Introduction (25 minutes):
What is podcasting? How is it related to blogs? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasting
Where do you find podcasts?
What are educators doing with podcasting?
What hardware/software do you need to podcast?
Minimum hardware needed:
A PC or Mac
A Headset that includes a microphone. (a USB headset is recommended for better quality)- Check out the logitech, Plantonics, Sam Ash, and Samson Technologies sites below for additional information.
Audacity can be downloaded at the following site (The last 3 links refer to tutorial sites):
The Lame Encoder is needed to convert Audacity projects into mp3 format and can be downloaded at the following site:
Skype is recommended for podcasts involving conferences where asynchronous communication over the internet is used. Powergramo and Pamela can be used to record Skype conversations. This software can be downloaded at the following sites:

Hands-on (75 minutes): Works in groups of two
Introduction to Audacity
Choose a webpage from Wikipedia or Wikibooks to record
Discuss importance of scripting. (Show samples)
